Meet Lydia Valdez,
Director of Customer Success
What got you interested in healthcare?
My mom was an ICU RN, CDCES and I was enamored not only by the drama of her cases but the love for the profession of nursing. I knew how important her patients were and could see the personal responsibility she took by checking-in after her shifts. Nursing was more than a job to her, it was about someone’s life. She taught me what it was to have the character of serving with excellence. Although I didn’t follow the clinical track, I knew I could make a difference on the administration side.
Is there something that you missed from your own healthcare experience that Iron Health specifically addresses?
I started my career in practice management before I transitioned into account management and eventually, customer success. Iron Health offered an opportunity for me to return to my roots by bringing the best of those worlds together for customers. I was absolutely thrilled to join the mission.
What’s something you wish people knew more about? Or what’s a secret wellness practice that you live by?
I take time to invest in my personal growth and build relationships. Health is more than mind and body to me. It is also relational, and I am very intentional about how I steward my community.
What makes you most excited about working at Iron Health?
Seeing the direct impact we can have for both the patient and the provider. Referral navigation is stressful for patients. Partnering with Iron Health cuts through all the referral noise, simplifies the process, and makes it easier for the patient to get access to care within days as opposed to months.
What does "strengthening the healthcare system” mean to you?
Expanding access to quality care through our virtual extension. We all know how fragmented the healthcare system is and we often dread the referral process. Our services allow us to preserve the patient relationship without the burden of having to navigate the system. We make it easy and seamless for both the patient and the provider!
Let’s discuss
As easy as it is to prioritize everyone else, we have to remind ourselves that we are worthy of taking care of our own health and well-being too.
When you’re not working, where can we find you?
At a coffee shop with friends
Breaking bread with family
Serving my community
